Facials & Chemical Peels Before & After Care Guide

Before Your Facial or Peel

1 Week Prior

  • Avoid tanning beds, self-tanner, and prolonged sun exposure.
  • Discontinue retinoids, glycolic/salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, and other exfoliants.
  • Pause waxing, threading, or depilatory creams.
  • Inform your provider of recent treatments, medications, or active breakouts.
  • If prone to cold sores, ask about antiviral prophylaxis before medium or deep peels.

Day of Treatment

  • Arrive with clean skin (no makeup, sunscreen, or heavy skincare).
  • Men should shave at least 24 hours before.

Aftercare: Facials

First 24 Hours

  • Skin may look refreshed, slightly flushed, or glowing.
  • Avoid makeup until the next day if possible.
  • No hot yoga, saunas, or heavy sweating until the next day.

First 2–3 Days

  • Use only gentle cleansers and moisturizers.
  • Apply mineral sunscreen daily (Belle’s preferred: Alastin SilkSHIELD® SPF 30).
  • Avoid exfoliants and actives until cleared by your provider.

Results

  • Facials provide instant hydration and glow, improving over several days.
  • Regular treatments enhance skin health and long-term radiance.

Aftercare: Light & Medium Peels

Immediately After

  • Mild redness, tightness, or warmth is common.
  • Skin may feel ‘windburned.’
  • Only use the post-procedure kit provided (gentle cleanser, moisturizer, sunscreen).

  • Peeling, flaking, or dryness begins.
  • Do not pick, peel, or pull at flaking skin.
  • Continue hydration with Epionce Renewal Calming Cream or recommended moisturizer.

Days 5–10

  • Peeling resolves; brighter, smoother skin revealed.
  • Continue mineral sunscreen daily.
  • Avoid waxing, exfoliation, or retinoids until healed.

Aftercare: Deep Chemical Peels

Immediately After

  • Redness, swelling, and sensitivity are expected.
  • Skin may feel tight, hot, or very dry.
  • Begin using Alastin Regenerating Skin Nectar to support healing and recovery.

First 7–10 Days

  • Peeling and shedding will be significant.
  • Avoid makeup until cleared by your provider.
  • No hot showers, saunas, or strenuous exercise for 72 hours.
  • Apply Alastin Nectar and mineral sunscreen daily.

2–4 Weeks Post-Treatment
